Creativity has always been central to Jamey's life. The need to be expressive in many faucets has pushed him musically, as a professional chef, and has ultimately led him to find his true passion as an abstract painter. The self taught artist has been creating art for nearly 12 years in St. Louis, MO and his work has traveled from coast to coast. His style is vast, incorporating a wide variety of mediums and techniques. Expressive flowing works, vibrant colors, and thick layering of paint shine through the majority of his work. Early work and experimentation brought on dynamically explosive, almost rhythmic creations. Over the years, fine tuning and more skilled applications have come to the forefront of Tochtrops journey as a painter. He enjoys working on large scale pieces pushing the limits of his small studio space. He crafts every piece from beginning to end as every canvas is built and stretched byTochtrop himself in his St. Louis based studio.
